My hubby is all about going to his parent’s farm every December to cut down our tree. He says it is a family tradition that he wants to keep going. They have about 40 acres in a nearby town, and we go there on a December weekend to pick out and cut down our tree, and then stay for dinner. It’s always nice because his father has already marked a couple of trees that he thinks we would like and makes sure that it’s easy for us to go see and get them.
And of course, staying for dinner and the visit afterwards is always nice, too. I brought along some cotton yarn and my crochet hooks and sat in one of the rocking chairs by the wood-stove, crocheting some dishcloths while we visited after dinner. They always make me feel so welcome, it is really very nice to see them.
