Paper Vs Online

One of my New Year Resolutions this year is to get the clutter out of my home. This year when I do the “Spring Cleaning” I will get rid of a ton of stuff that has managed to accumulate over the years that is just depressing me by cluttering up the joint way too much. Like all of the old style paper version of all the local yellowpages that I somehow still getting stuck with each and every year. I’m gonna have to make a phone call and see if I can get these waste of papers to stop being delivered to my door and I intend on encouraging other people to make that call as well. Most of us use the Internet for our local search needs. You can get so much more information about a person, place or service on the Internet rather than digging out the old phone books and taking a chance on possibly finding some information, limited as it is. You know what I’m saying, right? I mean if a want to know something about one of the local restaurants I certainly wouldn’t go to my phone book when the Internet will do the job bigger and better all the way around.

I’ll just need a good run of good weather because it will take a couple couple or more days to get it all done. And that isn’t even the start of what I’d like to get done this year.

Watching “The Holiday” is our Favorite Christmas Tradition

I appreciate the guest post, Jewel Rodgers

Every year, my family and I love to watch all of the animated Christmas specials that come on direct tv hd specials. We’ll watch them all season long and we often enjoy them while we bake, wrap Christmas presents, or decorate the house. However, my favorite non-animated Christmas special to actually sit down and watch is “The Holiday.” Though it isn’t a traditional Christmas classic yet, it’s quickly become a favorite movie for my boyfriend and I to watch during the holidays.

We love to watch “The Holiday” when it comes on satellite television because it’s a fun romantic comedy that has all kinds of great messages. There are so many great portrayals of different types of relationships in the movie. Each of the actors and actresses does a great job of making you believe that they can really feel what their characters are going through. The pairings between the various couples are really funny to watch and you can’t help but cheer for their relationships to succeed in the end.

It’s become a favorite tradition for my boyfriend and I to watch it every year right before Christmas with a special holiday dinner and of course, specially decorated Christmas cookies. It’s also a great opportunity for us to reminisce about the years we’ve watched it in the past and our own favorite holidays that we’ve spent together.

Ice house

This is an amazing story about a lighthouse that became covered with ice. I think it almost looks like a fantasy sand castle! I wonder if the light house is functional or not!
