I love to redecorate and refurnish. But I always have to keep in mind value. Especially in this economy!
Many years ago I wandered into a Pfaltzgraff outlet store and fell in love. Pfaltzgraff has the most beautiful, affordable dinnerware sets I’ve ever seen! This accidental finding of that store led me to register one of the classic designs many years ago for wedding presents. I chose the “Village pattern.” One of the reasons I chose it was because I was trying to broaden my tastes to include earth tones; I’ve always loved blue. Although it was nice, I really liked other patterns better and when my first hubby and I split up and he said he wanted to keep the dinnerware I said OK so that it would free me up to buy something I liked better.
Looking at their website just now, it is hard to pick my favorite – either the Vienna floral or the Winterberry! If I were to buy a new set of dishes, I’d also want some new Pfaltzgraff flatware for my table! The flatware I have now was bought back in 1972 and has certainly served me well, but it could certainly stand to be retired! I like the “simplicity” pattern because it looks like it would go with just about any dinnerware – very versatile!
The galvanized party serving pieces from Pottery Barn would really add a nice country touch to the picnic my hubby wants to throw for the neighbors next summer! I hope that they come into stock soon! I just entered their on-line sweepstakes for a room make-over, too. That would be awesome if I won!
