When repairmen don’t show as promised

One of the things that really annoy me is when you make an appointment for a repairman to come fix an appliance and they don’t show up or call. That happened to me last week. I had bought a new refrigerator from Home Depot and bought the extended warranty. The icemaker/water feature through the door stopped working, so I called the extended warranty telephone number. They promised me that a repairman would come out on Thursday. So I stayed home – and no one showed up, no one called. Now I don’t mind staying home; I LIKE being at home. But the aggravation is that they should have at least called to reschedule! So I called them again on Friday and they apologized and asked me to call them back next week, saying that they would investigate. Well I don’t understand what there is to investigate – just send the repairman out! What a pain in the neck!
