Very strange winter

It seems so very odd that this year we have had much less snow than usual. So much less snow that Portland had to cancel its Winter Festival for lack of snow! I’m not sure if that has ever happened before! And yet my dear family in Virginia tells me that they have been buried in snow! School have been closed for long stretches because the roads are bad. Seems that the Department of Transportation just isn’t equipped to deal with that much snow. I can imagine the havoc that is being wreaked upon their plowing and sanding budgets! I wonder how they are going to deal with it all!
