Firefly is a Science Fiction Television Show Unlike Any Other

Firefly is perhaps one of the greatest science fiction shows ever created. Although it ran for only one season, from 2002 to 2003, it has accumulated thousands of extremely loyal fans. Fan so loyal, in fact, that their intense lobbying earned the show a second chance as a feature film.
Firefly can be described most simply as a show about cowboys in space. If you like Westerns and you like science fiction, then you will absolutely love Firefly. It is a fun and easy to watch show that also manages to be intelligent and heartbreaking all at once.
Over the course of the single season, you’ll meet the crew of the Serenity and follow their adventures in the year 2517 AD. Current culture at this time is a mixture of the Old West and modern China–an interesting mix to say the least. The ensemble cast includes great actors you will recognize from other shows, like Nathan Fillion (Castle) and Adam Baldwin (Chuck).
The show is perhaps most novel in how it chooses to depict the future. There is the occasionally bit of high tech gadgetry but overall the future isn’t as futuristic as you might imagine. These are places and people you can imagine interacting with in your own down-to-earth life.
You can still catch Firefly in reruns now on the satellite TV you ordered after researching Dish vs satellite TV!
