Black Friday is crazy

There is no way that I would subject myself to the craziness that people endure on the annual Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving that massive sales are going on for the general public to try and purchase. I did it once, years ago, and that was enough for me. I couldn’t believe how many woman dragged their kids out in the middle of the night, in the freezing cold, with hundreds of other people standing in line waiting for the doors to open at 4:00am. Some women had a babe in arms, while pushing a stroller with another kid in it. Plus their diaper bags, their purchases, along with food and drink to keep them fed and hydrated during the whole process. Unreal!

High end clothing

Sue was showing off her new Cole Haan purse at dinner like it was made out of gold.  Jim had given it to her for her birthday last week.   I felt rather stupid because I had never heard of that brand before.  I guess I’m just a country bumpkin that is still on the turnip truck! But I followed everyone else’s cue and oohed and awed over it.  I have to admit that did look like a really nice bag.  The next day I went online and Googled Cole Haan.  I learned that they are a high end manufacturer of clothing and accessories such as luxury leather bags and luxury coats.

I found that zappos sells their products and they are on sale right now.  Although they are all really great looking products, the price tags are a little bit rich for my blood!  But I can certainly understand why Sue would be so excited about getting a gift like that for her birthday!  I’d be really excited too!

Busy day ahead

I don’t have any idea why I woke up so early this morning. I must be anxious about getting started on the Thanksgiving dinner later today. The problem is, I have house guests and I know that if I start cooking now that they will wake up. And I don’t think they would be too happy about getting up before the crack of dawn on Thanksgiving Day! So here I am, chomping at the bit! I need to put the turkey in the oven by 9am. If they aren’t awake by then, well then that’s too bad! I’ve got food that needs to cook if we are going to have a feast later on!

Speed demon

My brother Drew has always been a speed demon. As a teenager he got many a speeding ticket. It wasn’t too long after he turned legal age that he turned his interests to the race track and bought his first motorcycle. He has been tearing up the tracks ever since! I’ve never seen him race, personally, but I hear of his many wins. I also hear of his many aches and pains. I never did hear HOW he injured his back, I never heard of him wiping out. Maybe it’s just from riding too hard for too long on hard tail bikes.

I overheard him talking with my hubby last night about motorcycles. They both have Harley’s, and I expected the conversation to stay with that topic. But I overheard them talking about a race bike brand that I’d never heard of – Buell motorcycles. I was shocked because I thought that Drew rode Yamahas at the track, and my hubby is a diehard Harley fan. I wondered if this was a new brand of bike. Then Drew told me that Buell was made by Harley! That was a real surprise to me!

A New Baby in The Family!

I can’t wait to see my niece and her new baby girl, Feori Nichole, on this up and coming Thursday afternoon at my folks for the annual Thanksgiving family dinner and celebration. My niece just had her first baby back in early August and I have only seen the baby once and that was at the hospital on her second day of life. We haven’t had a new baby in the family for many years so we are all anxious to have them for dinner and to all hold and cuddle with the newest member of our ever growing family and then pass her along for the next one to enjoy.

These pictures are not of the new baby, but I found them on the Internet and I couldn’t resist posting them here. Great photos are meant to be passed around for all to see, right?
