Bonnie’s birthday

Yesterday Jeff asked me to help him out.  He’s in a real bind.  His wife Bonnie has told him that she wants him to buy her some Vera Wang Perfume for her birthday.  He has been in a real tizzy since then because he has no idea where he can go to buy any Vera Wang Perfume.  So Jeff called me up and begged me to buy some for him to give her.  I asked him what in the world made him think that I would know where to go to buy Vera Wang Perfume?

His answer – because you always smell so good!  Well, I have to give him credit for being smart enough to come up with that good an answer!  I told Jeff that I really didn’t have time to shop for him around town, but I’d go online and see what bargains could be had.  I have quite the reputation in our social circle for being a savvy online shopper!  I told Jeff that he needs to find out which fragrance in particular Bonnie wanted, and to get back to me and let me know.  Once I know for sure which fragrance she wants, I’m sure I can find him a good deal!

Yoga mats

When I was encouraged by Lily to take some dance classes with her, she told me that the first ten minutes, and the last ten minutes of class involve doing yoga exercises on the floor I was hesitant to join the class. After all, I did not want to have to buy a yoga mat. I went to the first class, taking only a beach towel with me instead. It wasn’t very long after class started before I realized that if I am going to take any more classes with Lily I am going to have to buy one of the best thick yoga mats that I can afford. Doing yoga on a beach towel was very uncomfortable!

Amazing mushrooms

Today I was reading an article about a new product for sale called Luminaze that is made from a mushroom that grows in the Swiss Alps. The product is being marketed to the consumer that wants to lighten dark spots on their skin. I found a website that talked about the product, and watched a video that demonstrated it as well. Basically the consumer washes the skin first, then applies two different products from the company to their skin. I’m not sure why it is a two step product, and which step does what, but with my limited knowledge of science would suggest that if the two products were mixed together in the same bottle or jar that the active life of the product would be significantly changed, and that the resulting mixture would either decrease in strength or increase in strength. Either way the end result would not be desirable.

The product is claimed to work in only seven days. The website indicated that there is only place in the United States that I can purchase this product, and that is at Nordstrom. I went to Nordstrom’s website and found that I could buy it online for $120.00. Since I’ve been seeing age spots on my arms the past couple of years, and have been unhappy with their appearance, I think that I will put this product on my “wish list” for the next time I have a little bit of mad money to spend!

Another Trip to the Vet

My dog is costing me more money for veterinarian bills than what I spend on my own health. Although I’ve heard of pet health insurance, my vet told me that it is rally a waste of money – you have so many limitations on what the insurance covers that you never get your money’s worth.

My dog started sneezing yesterday and it was violent sneezing. The poor thing was whacking his head on the floor with every sneeze. I was concerned he was going to seriously bruise or even break his jaw, or possibly bite off his tongue during a sneeze. He’s never done this before, so I was at a loss as to why he was having these violent sneezing fits. So, this morning I took him down the vet.

The vet says it might be a seasonal allergy and gave him a shot that should help him now and last a week. He said that if the sneezing comes back, to bring him back and they will run some tests.

I hope that he will be OK. I would like to know what he might be allergic to, but if it is trees or grasses, there isn’t much I can do about it anyway, so I guess spending the money on allergy tests isn’t really worth it except to satisfy my curiosity.

We Are Creatures Of Habit

It really all boils down to what you get used to. I remember an interview that I attended way back in they day. This manager during this initial interview was all about how we are all “Creatures of Habit” and “It’s All In Who You Know and Who You Are Related To” both are very good points and things that we could discuss until the end of time and still have plenty to say about.

I got that job and this manager was really the best manager that I have ever had the pleasure to work for and along side of. I remember how upset I was after only working there for one year that he was being transferred and a new guy was coming in. It went down hill from there, but I still in touch with some of the good folks that I worked there with and from what I hear this particular manager is still employed with them and is doing just fine and I always send my regards with the people that are still in touch with him after all these years. I would love to be able to use him as a reference in any future employment searches.

Body Pillow Cover

Twill Cover for Body Pillow

And yes I am most definitely am a creature of habit and I worry sometimes how I would survive if a disaster of a magnificent magnitude occurred, since I have become so dependent of so many things for my comfort and enjoyment on a daily and nightly basis for most of my life. The one thing that comes right to mind is my pillow, if it isn’t my pillow then I don’t get the sleep I need. I really should have bought two of them at the time, if I had only known! And if I don’t have one of my body pillows (thank goodness I have three of them and am always looking for new ones to try) I fear that I would be up all night and that wouldn’t be healthy for me or anyone else around me!
