I’m so glad to see that there is no a good supply of virtual girl games available to the female population. When I was growing up they were in very short supply and no one seemed to care. We basically enjoyed Pac Man and then when Ms. Pac Man came out we were totally surprised and thrilled to death. Unfortunately no much more happened after that.

With almost half of the online game playing population looking for and playing virtual girl games the demand has been heard and they have done a good job in providing females with a good variety of virtual girl games to occupy our online time. My 11 year old niece got a laptop for Christmas and spends a good amount of time online, since she is the only child she doesn’t have anyone around the house to play with and spend any of her spare time with, so the computer has turned into her best friend these days.

It is a good thing that her mother is on the ball and is constantly checking in on her and does look to see what sites she has been visiting. She isn’t allowed to have a FaceBook or a MySpace account yet, but she seems cool with that for now.

I’ve noticed when I go out to town that there are a lot of people doing their errands while wearing scrubs of some kind. I often wonder why these people are out in public wearing them. I thought that medical scrubs and nursing scrubs were clothing items that were supposed to be worn in a hospital or doctor’s office. By that I mean that someone would wear street clothes from their house to work, and then change into the scrubs after they arrived at work. I guess that is a thing of the past, though, because nowadays I see scrubs for sale at the big box department stores.

It just seems to me that when I was younger, the only people that I ever saw wearing scrubs had the name of the institution right on the scrubs. So it would make sense that people would not take them home as they could be considered theft. I guess the businesses now don’t want to supply the scrubs to their employees and are making them buy their own. As such it would make more sense to see more of them being worn out on the street. I still think it’s strange, though.

Today I found myself thinking about Crystal Gayle. I remember watching her sing when I was a child, and being amazed at her very long hair. I wondered how in the world she could take care of it! My hair is down to my waist and I don’t think it could grow as long as hers. I haven’t seen her in years; I wonder what she looks like now. I found a cute video of her performing with the Muppets a long time ago. I had never seen this before; I think it’s cute!

Today I finally came to grips with the realization that I will never ever be as slim as I was twenty years ago. I have a lot of beautiful rings that I loved to wear that I can no longer get on my fingers, and it bothers me that I can’t wear them anymore. So today I gathered them all up and took them to the local jewelry store to have them resized. I showed them to the very nice lady that worked there and she told me that it was going to cost me a fortune to resize them all. Anywhere from $42 to $100 for each ring!

Realizing that some of the rings aren’t even worth that much money, she helped me pick out two rings to resize and I brought the rest home. We agreed that we should do it in stages. She told me that I have a lot of nice jewelry that is worth resizing, but she knows that money is tight for me right now. I really appreciated that kind of personal service. She said that she will give me a phone call when they are ready, in about a week or so. I’m looking forward to being able to wear them again!

Yesterday Jeff asked me to help him out. He’s in a real bind. His wife Bonnie has told him that she wants him to buy her some Vera Wang Perfume for her birthday. He has been in a real tizzy since then because he has no idea where he can go to buy any Vera Wang Perfume. So Jeff called me up and begged me to buy some for him to give her. I asked him what in the world made him think that I would know where to go to buy Vera Wang Perfume?

His answer – because you always smell so good! Well, I have to give him credit for being smart enough to come up with that good an answer! I told Jeff that I really didn’t have time to shop for him around town, but I’d go online and see what bargains could be had. I have quite the reputation in our social circle for being a savvy online shopper! I told Jeff that he needs to find out which fragrance in particular Bonnie wanted, and to get back to me and let me know. Once I know for sure which fragrance she wants, I’m sure I can find him a good deal!

A few weeks ago I decided to buy a package of “EZ Combs.” I have waist-long hair and was looking for a different, yet simple way to style my hair while at work. The “EZ Combs” are very pretty, and they certainly looked easy to use. So I bought a package (for about $10.) The package had two pretty sets of combs in it. Each set of combs has a series of pretty elastic bands between them. The theory is that you can put the combs in your hair, stretch the elastic bands across your twist, or ponytail, or bun, and the combs will hold your hair in place.

The package says that they are comfortable and will stay in place even during a workout. Well, I tried for over an hour this past weekend to get those durn things to stay in my hair. I followed the directions exactly to the letter. They looked great until I moved my head. You guessed it, they fell out. Again and again and again. The longest I could get those durn things to stay in my hair was the length of time it took me to walk from the bathroom to the bedroom. Very frustrating. If you can give me some advice on how to make these things stay in my hair, give me a shout!

Today I was in town running errands and I saw men and women shopping in their pajamas and bathrobes and slippers. I didn’t know if it was supposed to be some kind of prank, like the improv everywhere people pull, but there weren’t that many of them to make me think it was a large scale prank like that. I can remember having nightmares about going out in public in my jammies, but these people are doing it on purpose! Makes me shake my head!

I’ve always been a firm believer that nothing good has come out of Texas. But I do have a close friend that moved to Dallas TX a few years back and she seems to be doing well down there. We keep in touch via weekly emails and I always enjoy hearing from her, she always had a way with words.

She is a treasure hunter and has gotten pretty good at it lately. It seems that she has been hitting the pawn shops that are abundant in Texas. One of her local Dallas Pawn Shops has become one of her favorite stops when she goes into town and she has become very friendly with the owner, which is cool. We could all use as many friends as we can possibly acquire these days.

She is totally into vintage jewelery and there seems to be a lot of people pawning their vintage jewelry in order to get cash to help pay the bills in today’s troubled economy. It is a buyer’s market, if you have the money. She has even ventured out to some of the other Austin Pawn Shops in her attempt to find her treasures that put a smile on her face. It’s all about the hunt and I say go for it girl!

I recently cancelled several of the subscriptions because I noticed that the magazines seem to be re-running the same stories over and over again. The advice they hand out about how to do this or that is the same advice that they handed out every six months for several years. Well, OK, maybe not every six months, maybe every twelve months. But the point is that there is rarely anything new in the magazines other than new ads for products. The articles seem to be the same articles over and over again. Seems like a waste of money to keep buying them!
