Shelves in the shed

Several years ago I bought a Rubbermaid storage shed for our back yard.  I asked my hubby to install it on a bed of gravel.  But he decided that he’d just put it on the ground.  As a result all of the shelves that I try to put on the walls keep falling down.  When we first put the building up and the installed the shelves, I was thrilled!  I filled the shelves with an assortment of garden tools and planters.

I was thrilled to be able to take my outdoor planters out of the basement and put them into the shed – it freed up valuable space inside. But I was quite annoyed a few short days later when I went out to the shed to pick out a decorative planter to put a new begonia in and found all of my garden supplies in a pile on the floor! I have tried many times to fix that problem, but the shelves just will not stay up! I guess the only solution is to put in free-standing shelving units and be done with it!  I think if my hubby had installed the shed correctly this wouldn’t be an issue!  But I always learn to make do, and I think that is the answer to the problem.

A Nice Pair of Cigar Cutters

This year, for father’s day, instead of buying my father a box of cigars, as I have been doing for so many years, I have decided to buy him a nice set of cigar cutters. He has been complaining about his current cigar cutters and I know that he hasn’t gone out and bought new ones, as of yet.

Since Father’s Day is coming up in just over a months time I think that I will go ahead and start looking around online and see what is out there on the World Wide Web. We really don’t have any tobacco stores around here, the closest one is over an hour and a half’s drive from here and I rarely go to that part of the state. Online is the way to go. I’ll be looking for free shipping and discounts along the way. I’m in no hurry, but I don’t want to wait until the last minute either.

Tie Dye Fashions and Bongos For Sale

At the latest monthly meeting for the civic organization that I belong to, much of the talk was about the yearly “Yard Sale” that has given them such trouble in the past with making any profit from. Since I am still pretty much a new member of this wonderful organization I seem to always be raising my hand with questions, ideas, concerns, thoughts and suggestions, which I think a lot of the older members grow tiresome of my intrusions of their time each month. But that was the whole idea of me joining this community organization, which was to bring some much needed new blood and there is no holding me back!

The “Yard Sale” is going to be held on the Saturday of the Memorial Day weekend. We are going to try some different advertising, as well as some new vendors with some colorful and unique items to have displayed out front outside. I have convinced the Milky Way Tie Dye Store to set up there and they certainly have a great selection of bright colors that I think will attract a ton of people that would normally just drive on by. I am thinking of putting a sign with bongos for sale, with my old set of bongos that if some body really wants could take it home for a few bucks. Tie Dye and Bongos. I think it’s almost perfect. I’ve got a few things that I wouldn’t mind putting out on a table for the day.

All The Spring Flower Catalogs In My Mailbox

It’s that time of year that my mailbox is starting to fill up with many catalogs from plant and seed catalogs. I love looking through them all, looking to see if there are any new and exciting plants that I could plant in my flower garden. I’m partial to perennials, and always mindful of deer resistant plantings.

As much as I enjoy gardening I really don’t want to spend hours and hours on planting something just to find out that the deer will be dinning on them before we even get a chance to enjoy the. One good reason why I’m especially fond of lilies, daffodils, and irises. Deer seem to leave them alone! And there are dozens of different types, styles, and colors of them all. It won’t be long now until I can start working on getting the soil ready, which is a lot of work but I don’t mind it one bit. I love getting my hands all in the dirt, and working hard. I sleep so much better at night after spending several hours outside with all the yard work and gardening, and I get a good dose of Vitamin D while I’m out there in the fresh air and sunshine. It’s all good

Monster Beats Studio Headphones – Silver

There is just something special about getting a hand written thank you card/note/letter in your mailbox that is guaranteed to make you smile and feel good. In these days you have to grab and hold on to those special moments for as long as you can! It is a rare occasion to get any type of “good” mail in the mailbox at the end of the driveway. It is usually filled with bills, junk mail and magazines that keep seeming to come to me each month even though I never ordered or requested any type of monthly publication in all my life!

So it was a nice way to come home. Stopping along the way at the mailbox to bring in the usual hum drum mail and finding a nice hand written thank you card from my niece for the monster beats silver studio headphones that I had given to her for her birthday/Christmas. Bless her heart she was born on Christmas Eve, so I always go the extra mile and get her something nice and that she really wants for the celebration of two very important birthdays. She is a good kid. They (my sister) home school her and have done a great job so far, but they have decided that when she hits high school they should get her into the high school in her designated area, which doesn’t have the best reputation. This will be an interesting and heart breaking adventure for everyone involved when the time comes. They still have a few more years to go and I’m sure that things will work out. Trying to think positive about the situation.
