Generally speaking, I am not easily impressed. I don’t mean to sound like a “killjoy” or “sourpuss” but I tend to view everything in life on an even keel. But when Steve started to play his guitar after plugging it into the new irig from musicians friend I was really surprised. I never would have expected that someone would be able to use their Ipod as an amp/speaker for their guitar! Now I’ve heard everything!

One of the things that I find most telling about the economy is how many homes have signposts in their yards that advertise that they use some kind of home security system to deter burglars. As more and more people are losing their jobs and falling off of the unemployment benefits roster, more and more people will be turning to desperate measures.
I can remember just a few years back no one in this neighborhood even locked their doors at night, or when leaving the house! People felt very safe around here. But I’ve been hearing recently that a few houses a couple of blocks away were broken into over the past couple of weeks, and just last night by neighbor told me that someone appears to have been in their house over last weekend when they went away to visit their relatives in Ohio.
They said that it does not look like anyone stole anything, but things were rearranged and food was eaten from their pantry and refrigerator. And beds had been slept in. I have to wonder if it was maybe some neighborhood kids that were just taking advantage of a temporarily vacant house to have some private romance time! I’m glad that nothing was stolen, but I’m sure that it would creep me out if I came home and found that someone had been in the house. Who knows what they might have gone through? How could I tell if a couple of pieces of jewelry were missing?
My hubby asked me to try and find a consumer reports article about what are the best security systems and services to use. I think he is concerned that someone might break into our house and steal some of his NASCAR collectibles! I guess he’s really serious about looking into a system!
Just give me a great beat
When Eric invited me to his band rehearsal last weekend I thought that I was going to have the chance to enjoy some great party food and dance to some great music. Essentially like a private concert! Well, the party food wasn’t anything special, and instead of dancing all night long there were long stretches of discussion about things that I had no interest in – like the directions to the store where the best pintech drums are on clearance. Next time Eric invites me to rehearsal, I think I’ll say “no thanks, I’ll sit this one out.”
Water Issues
It is good to see that rain barrels are coming back in style. These rain water barrels help in so many ways and with so much emphasise on going and becoming as “Green” as possible, rain harvestings is a wonderful concept. We are now hearing that we are entering a drought and the restrictions are going to be put into place real soon. That really sucks but I know that it is necessary if we want to have water all summer long. I can’t imagine summer time without any water activities to keep cool with.
You can find plenty of nice rain barrels for sale on the Internet if you can’t find them locally. They have some wonderful styles of rain barrels to offer for today’s consumers. Not just the old wooden type of rain barrel that we grew up seeing from time to time. If we all try and harvest the precious and few rain drops that we are getting it could make a big difference all the way around for many folks.
Bonnie’s birthday
Yesterday Jeff asked me to help him out. He’s in a real bind. His wife Bonnie has told him that she wants him to buy her some Vera Wang Perfume for her birthday. He has been in a real tizzy since then because he has no idea where he can go to buy any Vera Wang Perfume. So Jeff called me up and begged me to buy some for him to give her. I asked him what in the world made him think that I would know where to go to buy Vera Wang Perfume?
His answer – because you always smell so good! Well, I have to give him credit for being smart enough to come up with that good an answer! I told Jeff that I really didn’t have time to shop for him around town, but I’d go online and see what bargains could be had. I have quite the reputation in our social circle for being a savvy online shopper! I told Jeff that he needs to find out which fragrance in particular Bonnie wanted, and to get back to me and let me know. Once I know for sure which fragrance she wants, I’m sure I can find him a good deal!
