Everyone jokes about how bad reality shows are but I can’t seem to stop watching them. The stranger the better! Obviously I’m not the only one since networks continue to produce them. However, I’ve noticed an interesting phenomenon lately. Rather than getting more creative with premises in many cases, networks like I watch on my Direct TV are taking the shows already on and giving them a gender twist. Hook Line & Sister on TLC is a perfect example. The ever popular ice fishing show takes on a whole new look when presented from a woman’s point of view! Being from the southeast, I make no claim to have any understanding of Alaskan fishing. But even as a woman I was not only surprised that there are women who do this for a living but that they would go on tv to show the experience warts and all. Okay maybe not that surprised but surprised that women who would take on a gender bending role as such would need to show it on tv. Needless to say, it does make for interesting television viewing.

We all hear how much money we can save by checking around and getting quotes with various insurance companies. That is something that would have taken hours or even days back in the day before the Internet came into play and we had to rely on our handy dandy local yellow pages (the old paper version). These days it is a much easier process and one that I urge everyone to give a try and see how much money they can save.

I can tell you first hand that I wasn’t all that interested in switching insurance companies. I have been with my agent for over 20 years, I actually worked for him for a short time when he first started his agency, so I felt a loyalty to him, big time. But times are hard and money is an issue, so I took a chance and looked around and was surprised to find that I could be paying a whole lot less, $50 a month, with another carrier. It was hard calling my agent and letting him know that I had decided to switch insurance companies, but he was very understanding and told me that I have to do what I have to do in order to get by in today’s economic crisis. He also told me that he appreciated me calling him directly to inform him of my decision instead of calling the 800 number and canceling my long standing policy with the Regional office. It wasn’t an easy call to make but I’m glad that I did.

I have always had a smaller than average pair of feet and that can be a real pain in the rear at times when trying to find a decent pair of shoes. I have to admit that they are getting a bit better at helping women in my position but they still have a long way to go in order to make a big difference for us.

The one good thing that comes out of this is that many times I end up wearing girls shoes and they tend to be a bit cheaper then women’s shoes. Right now is a good time to buy girls flip flops, dirt cheap since summer is way over and winter is right around the corner. I just picked up several pairs of girls flip flops on clearance for $1.50 a piece, the same ones in women’s sizes were going for $2.50, so I was happy for having small feet right then I can tell you that!

The only thing worse than having smaller than average feet would be having larger than average feet. I can’t see any thing good coming out of that situation, but not having to deal with that I really wouldn’t know. They say that will all bad there is good and with all good there is bad!

Even though the end of summer is near that doesn’t mean that we have to stop having water fun. I have been seeing the commercials for the popular Great Wolf Lodge for some time now and I really would love to take the family there in the near future. They have some really wonderful looking Indoor Water Parks that I haven’t seen the likes of anywhere else that I have been that have an Indoor Water Park. Plus all the Indoor Activities for Kids that they are advertising sounds like a great time for the whole family.

I’ve been talking with my sister and brother and they both seem to think that some time in October would be a good time to take the kids to the Great Wolf Lodge. That leaves plenty of time to get it all planned out and organized. We haven’t done anything like this is such a long time and I really miss spending time with all of them. If we go in October it will not interfere with all of the holiday plans and all the issues that go along with the holidays. So I am going to go ahead and get online and get the ball rolling.

There is a real push in the Hawaii real estate company business these days. The economy has really messed up a lot of places but I keep hearing that Hawaii is really really feeling the pinch so there is a lot of advertising going on to try and encourage folks to buy homes, properties and businesses of course. I have never been able to visit Hawaii and one day when I hit the lottery or inherited a boat load of money from some rich distant relative it will be the first place on my list to check out and I don’t think that I’m alone on that. Hawaii has always been known as the United States Tropical Paradise and I think everyone should be able to fly over there and enjoy all that they have to offer down there.

I have to believe that the people from those islands must be some of the most lucky people around, being born and raised there, I can only imagine what that must be like. And then there are the people that get to visit and enjoy their brief stay there seeing the sites and taking it all in. Then there are folks like me, the ones that can only dream of such things, but a girl can dream can’t she?

Don’t get me wrong, I love my air conditioner that I have set at a very comfortable 78 degrees. But I don’t have control of other people’s air conditioners nor the a/c that the stores, restaurants and other businesses have that they have cranking out this freezing cold air that freezes me right out the door and quick like. There is nothing worse than sweating like a whore in church in this horrible summer heat and humidity only to go in somewhere that has the air blasting so much that I automatically start shaking from the cold blast. I just wish that they wouldn’t have it so darned cold, that I have to carry a sweater or jacket with me any where that I go.

People just keep moving farther and farther away these days. I wish that it was the way is was “back in the day” when families all lived close to each other, many on the same street and many more in the same city, town or county. Slowly but surely we are losing people to other parts of the country and even a few that have left the country and moved half way across the world for heaven’s sake.

My cousin Sharon and I have been close as sisters for as long as I can remember. I never thought that my life would not include her as it has all my life. But she met a man online from Australia and she has decided to up and take the plunge and move in with the guy, just like that. I’m shocked and very upset for numerous reasons, but I wish her all the luck in the world.

They have a lot in common, both want to become a personal trainer and both are totally into the fitness courses that are readily available to everyone virtually everywhere. Even in “The Land Down Under” fitness is a big to do and they desperately want a piece of the fitness action and they have high hopes in this relationship working out and a successful fitness training partnership in the makes.

Thank goodness she will have Internet access so that we can IM and email when ever we want to. Who knows one day I might be able to afford a trip somewhere and you can bet my first choice will be Australia.

Once in a while you can see a house going down the road, that has been uprooted from it’s original site and is headed for a new piece of land to be sat back down upon. I can only imagine all the work and planning that it takes to take on something like this and how it must be an interesting task to be involved in. I’ve never known anyone that has had a house moved or anyone who has been involved in something like this professionally. I can’t even imagine where you would start in a process like this and the paperwork involved must be outrageous. I’d be interested to find out more about it.

I understand that it can cost a good amount of money for this house removal service. But the cost involved can be worth it in the long run. With the use of the Internet you can go online now and get various quotes for house removal costs which can be a time saver and hopefully provide you with some good choices to choose from for this service. Can you imagine seeing your house going down the road, it must be kinda creepy like, ya know.
