My sister was telling me that she is starting a new advertising agency that will be focused on helping local small businesses increase their visibility on the Internet. She has been dabbling with blogging for the past couple of years, and she has found that many of her local business owners don’t have any idea how to go about how to improve visibility on the Internet.
She tells me that right now she is spending a lot of her time educating the local businesses about how the Internet can help them in the first place; many of them seem to be stuck in the rut of thinking that newspaper advertisements and listings in the telephone book and relying on their old customer’s loyalty is all they are ever going to need. She says that it can be quite frustrating! I can imagine that would be a very difficult and frustrating process! Glad it’s not me that’s doing that!
