Food, It’s Available Every Where You Turn

It always seems to happen to so many products that I have been relying on and enjoying for years to just disappear off of the shelves that they have always sat on. I really don’t like bouncing from store to store in an effort to find what store doesn’t carry what and what store could possibly carry it now. There has been a huge boom in the opening of grocery stores in town, at last count it was 11, now that’s a lot of grocery stores to be running to and fro to all over town. And then of course there are many stores that groceries, like CVS, Rite Aid, Target, etc….whose main customer base is not based on the grocery section but they still have some of the staples that their customers can pick up while they are in the store buying other things.

What’s really absurd is that the Wal-Mart is being turned into a Super Wal-Mart and is totally expanding their grocery section to where it will now be the main part of the stores merchandise. No wonder the majority of our population are totally over weight, there is food being offered everywhere. And you don’t even want to get me started on all of the fast food restaurants and convenience stores that are here in town and I’m sure more are on the way.

Bringing in the lawn furniture

With the big storm approaching, we’ve spent much of the day scurrying around the yard picking up everything that we can lift and bringing it into the house or the garage. We’ve got plenty of gasoline for the generator, plenty of water in the rain barrels for flushing toilets and more food than you can shake a stick at! I know that a lot of people are really worried about all of the damage that the storm will be causing. I’m really glad that we live far enough inland that the worst of the storm won’t reach our place! I’m sure we’ll see some high winds and rain, and possibly snow, but right now I’m really glad that we don’t live on the coast!

Gas Savings at Martins

One of the many things that I like about shopping at Martin’s is that since I have one of their loyalty cards, when I shop there I qualify for a discount on their gasoline. Their gasoline is competitively priced to begin with, and when I need to fill up, it is a bonus that I’m able to fill up the tank right there and get a discount on the gas too!

Take Out Tonight

We have not had Chinese take out food for supper for a while now, and I find that I am suffering from withdrawal pains! I love Chinese food and could easily eat it a couple of times a week. Tonight I am too tired and cranky to cook, so Chinese take out it is going to be! Orange Chicken along with their Premium Fried Rice sound perfect right about now.

Vanilla milk shake was just nasty

Last night my hubby and I went through the Wendy’s drive through to pick up some food to bring home for supper. I ordered one of the apple and pecan chicken salads (which is my favorite) and my hubby ordered a chicken sandwich and a vanilla milk shake. I also ordered one of those baby Frosty drinks that you can get for free if you bought the customer loyalty key tag at the end of last year.

Driving home my husband offered me a taste of his vanilla shake, telling me to get ready for a “sugar rush.” Well, normally I am a big fan of vanilla milk shakes, but let me tell you this milk shake was really nasty! I don’t know what they had done wrong, but it was so awful that I started to gag! My hubby thought it was really funny that I disliked it so much, and said that when we got home he was going to have to dilute it with a lot of milk.  I think that the next time I order a vanilla milk shake there I will taste it before I leave! I would have gone back to the counter and told them it was nasty and to give me something different!
