As plain as the nose on your face

When I was pregnant with my second son, some capillaries on the end of my nose burst, leaving a permanent dark red spot. It looks like a small port wine birthmark. I’ve been self-conscious about that spot on my nose ever since. Sure, I can put make-up over the spot to conceal it, but as soon as I have to wipe my nose with a tissue the make-up is gone and the red spot is still there. About ten years ago I saw a dermatologist to check a mole and she offered to do something to the spot on my nose. I don’t know what kind of  skin lightening treatment she used (at least I don’t know what it was called) but I remember that it felt like an electric zap and I jumped. The spot disappeared for a couple of days but then reappeared.

She told me that there was a different procedure that could be done to make it go away permanently but it was expensive and my insurance would not cover it. So I have chosen to just leave it alone. As much as I hate that spot on my nose I have more important things to spend my money on right now! But if I could find a treatment to fix it that was affordable, I’d be all over it like flies on donkey dung!
